Ocean Economy Workforce Development
BUILDING NATIONAL AWARENESS OF OCEAN CAREERS

Connecting the Ocean Economy Workforce System

At WaveWorks Alliance, we identify proven training and outreach models and turn them into repeatable, usable frameworks that help communities build and grow their workforce using ideas that already work. By organizing what’s effective and making it easier to share, we help educators, employers, and local partners across the nation meet rising workforce demand with confidence.

Across the country, communities are working hard to grow their ocean economy workforce but often lack clear, reliable information about what actually works. We help cut through that gap by gathering proven approaches and sharing them in ways educators, employers, and partners can use right away.

If you’re looking for support or collaboration, we’re here to help.

Who We Serve

LEARNERS

We help students and adults understand real career options in the ocean economy and how to access them. Our goal is to make pathways clearer, show what training looks like in everyday terms, and help people see themselves in stable, well‑paid careers they may not have known existed.

EDUCATORS

We give educators and counselors clear, straightforward information they can use to guide students. By sharing practical examples and explaining career pathways in plain language, we make it easier for them to connect learners with strong training programs and real job opportunities.

EMPLOYERS

WaveWorks Alliance works with employers and academic partners to strengthen the talent pipeline and ensure training reflects current industry needs. By helping raise awareness of employer expectations and career opportunities, we support alignment, visibility, and workforce development across the ocean economy.

Help Us Showcase Career Pathways

WaveWorks Alliance is collecting information from educators, trainers, unions, and employers to build a national resource for students and job seekers. If your program supports careers connected to our oceans and inland waterways we want to feature it on our site.
